Ans (2) : I think Alan Kay's visions have mostly been realized because we have laptops now which are portable and capable of taking in and giving out information. If laptops are not portable enough, we have the PDA! The visual and audio outputs are also great in these devices. However, I don't think it's so easy to create programs where children can easily write their own programs. It's still largely limited as to how programs are written now.
